June 27, 2017(Tue.) - August 20, 2017(Sun.)
Mount Fuji everywhere! Find your favorite views of Mount Fuji
Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji and One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji stand tall together! This summer, these two series will be appearing at the museum at last. It's an exhibition that shows the wonder of Japan's highest peak, Mount Fuji, as portrayed by Hokusai's hand. The third and fourth floor of the museum's special exhibition rooms are all filled with Hokusai's woodblock prints of Mount Fuji. Left, up and down, wherever you look at, there’s Mount Fuji all around you. Throughout the exhibition, we’ll be showing you Mount Fuji that’s been closely tied to the lives of Japanese people by rotating 148 exhibits - boldly and delicately drawn by Hokusai. By looking at the various works of the exhibition Hokusai × Fuji, you may find the image of Fuji in your memory or even you will find your favorite views of Mount Fuji in Hokusai's works.
